Love-A-Bull celebration in Republic Square Park in downtown Austin! 

 

Doggies everywhere!!

Many in costume, since Halloween was just 2 days away!

 

 This young man enjoyed his Bat Hat!

I felt that the felines needed representation too!

MEOW!!!!!

 

It wasn't just Jakey and the doggies in costume!

Her doggie is wearing a pink tutu!

Old Pecan Street Fall Festival 2012

 There are some die-hard UT Longhorn fans

in downtown Austin!

For the first time ever, Saturday's Old Pecan Street Festival was basically cancelled...

The weatherman put a lot of fear into people, predicting up to 8 inches of rain and wide spread flooding.

The organizers cancelled the bands and the food vendors.

I would have gone anyway, but if it floods out where I live, the roads become inaccessible...

Sunday was a gorgeous day - tons of beautiful sunshine and thousands of people came to Pecan St.!

I stayed busy making balloon art for 9 hours straight!

So busy, that I only got these 2 pictures!

    

These kids had a lot of fun - and so did I!!  :)

At first Lela was shy, 

having never encountered a clown before...

She quickly warmed up to me though!

After all, turning 3 years old 

makes you a BIG girl!

Independence Day of India

The women and traditional outfits of India are gorgeous!

Many dressed up to commemerate

Independence Day of India ! 

The celebration at the North Austin Events Center included music, singing and dance!

Austin's Mayor Lee Leffingwell spoke to the crowd, and a minute of silence to respect the victims of the Sikh Temple massacre in Wisconsin was observed... 

Many thanks to Austin Christian Fellowship of India, as well as Finel and his lovely family for including me!!

Oh, and I made a bunch of Octopus hats too!!  :)

The Dog Days of August....

Jakey the Clown thinks that "The Dog Days of August"

  should be renamed to 

"Octopus Days of August"!

After all, octopuses swim!

Well so do dogs, but the octopus actually lives in the water.

Stays nice and cool...

Which we should all do in the summer heat of August!
