Love-A-Bull Festival

Rescue Ink!!

LOVE these guys! Champions of abused animals - traveling the country rescuing our furry friends from neglect and inhumane treatment!

I'm holding a picture of Freckles - my rescued Pit Bull. I wish Rescue Ink had been here when Freckles managed to run away from the mean people who had the Pit Bull fighting ring a few miles away from where I live. Rescue Ink would have set those cowards straight!

The Love-A-Bull Festival
downtown Austin on November 7th, 2010
was attended by hundreds of dogs and their humans!

Bringing awareness to the community that the Pit Bull breed is getting a BAD RAP!
Bad behavior is taught by the owner, not inbred in the breed!

Everybody got along just fine!!
:-))

There was a parade to begin the festivities with. I saw it on the news, but not in person. I did get a couple of photos of participants in the costume contest...

This guy has an angelic smile to go with his angel outfit!

Mama's little babies...

And at the Rescue Ink booth...

"I'm a Dalmation, and I'm beautiful!"

Hugs, love, skritch, treats, purr, spay, neuter and ADOPT!

Halloween!!

Halloween at Cedar Park's Community Center was SO much FUN!!! :-)

I was a Halloween Clown Kitty - and though you can't see my really COOL tail, it was purrfect!!

Sponsored by Rockbridge Church, the pastor and his wife went all out to make it a memorable and fun experience for all who attended...

This clown should be a fashion designer! I like to make balloons that match the colors in the kids outfits!

I was way too busy to get a lot of pictures - but did get a few!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Pinatas!

These kids were having fun gathering the candy from the pinata!

A word about
pinatas...

Many moons
ago I worked a birthday party for a 3 year old boy. Mom got him a dinosaur pinata, since dinosaurs were his favorite thing at the time.
He loved and hugged on his new "toy" friend!

So, when all the kids at his birthday party started hitting his new friend with a baseball bat, he erupted in tears & there was no consoling him...

Since then I have always felt that inanimate objects make much better pinatas...

I like Star pinatas myself! :-))

The Old Pecan Street Fall Festival - 2010

I
created this butterfly hat for something new to make at Pecan St.!

The kids loved it!! :-)

The Old Pecan Street Fall Festival - 2010

I was SO busy that only this one picture was taken with my camera.

That's because daddy forgot his camera, so I offered him mine and said he could e-mail me and I would send it to him... :-))

It was my 25th year working the Pecan Street Festivals!

How I managed that being an 11 year old giant?

Your guess is as good as mine!

Bastrop Homecoming/Rodeo 2010

never
had a clown attend before, and were thrilled to have me there!

I had a LOT of fun!

Many kids remembered me from the Flea Mart and thought the balloons were free... sorry! ;-(

Though I did give some away... and took others out in trade.

You give me something for free,
and I'll give you a free balloon!

Guess who ended up with
the orange eyebrows
with the green emoticon nose?
If you guessed
Jakey the Clown
you would be correct!!

Fun & Games!

Seriously.

Would you play Parcheesi with this guy?

Maybe if he stuck his tongue back in his mouth?

Well, I played with him...

SKUNKED him too!!

He claims I cheated though - using outdated rules written in the 1930's...

His eyes might pop out if he knew the game was created in 500 B.C.!!

LOL!!!

The Big Red Nose

Did you know that clowns love to garden?

That's because they love watching things grow - like Feet, Smiles & Big Red Noses!

The Big Red Nose in the picture is just about ready for use! Ha ha!!

NO, NO, Please DON'T throw it at Jakey!!

ACHOO!!

Now THAT was a juicy sneeze!!

Search Engine Optimization

I'm trying SO hard to advertise my business!
I am now on Google Places, Austin Backpage, Austin Chronicle, Craigslist in both Events and Creative services. Have requests out to be in 2 different Elgin business directories.

I'm also listed with Google and Yahoo! in their free listings...

This blog really helps with Search Engine Optimization. So, here I am adding as many labels as will be allowed to try to expand my business horizons!

People!! Are you out there?
I know the economy is tough, but I will work with your budget!!

4th of July Parade!

Okay. I think that the blue hair looks a little scary... ;-(
BUT it was the 4th of July, which kind of called for red, white & blue!
The kids didn't seem to mind at all - clowns are supposed to be somewhat strange.
Perhaps since my sidekick Fiona looked normal?

Elgin City Hall said it was the first time they had a clown in their 4th of July Parade.
There were lots of Cub Scouts and even The Statue of Liberty!

There was a program in Veteran's Park afterward, and had fun making balloon art for the kids!
Thank you Fiona for helping me!! :-))

Let's Go Fly a Kite!!

Up to the highest height!!

Flying a kite is an art...

The trick is to catch the breeze and run with it.

Once you get your kite up in the air, you can stop running and just enjoy the fun!

Avoid flying a kite on a road or anywhere near an electrical wire pole or trees, as a kite needs lots of space and moves around a lot on its way up and down.

1st website update complete!!

Clowns are meant to be fun, funnier, funniest and able to tickle your funny bone!

So, it's been hard for me to keep up in this technologically challenged world...

Especially with dial up access and no call waiting on my phone. ;-(

With a website up now jakeytheclown.com , a site I created off line - I have now successfully completed my first update! WOOT!! :-))

Between ftp, html and trying to figure out the host site, it took me 4 days to do... but now I know how to do it... :-)

So, I can go back to being a funny clown instead of a frustrated computer user!!

Happy Birthday Squeek!

Squeek had a wonderful 3rd Birthday on April 10th!

1/2 can of tuna just for her!!

She has been very loving since the bottle babies have been here. I think they bring out her motherly instincts - even though she has been spayed!

I also think she may be related to the babies - they look a LOT alike. Since Squeek was also found in the woods out back, the same feral tomcat could be responsible for fathering them all!

Spay/Neuter!!!

I took the babies to the Humane Society of Austin/Travis County yesterday. It was hard to do, but know that they will receive their vaccinations, spay/neuter and be adopted into Forever homes! Maybe even yours?

Bottle Babies!

I was helping the Easter Bunny deliver deviled eggs on Sunday!
A neighbor discovered these 3 kittens born to a feral momcat in their wood pile...
Their mama had been sent to The Rainbow Bridge by a mean coyote.

They are about 2 weeks old, and so I am feeding them kitty milk replacement with a bottle every 3 hours. They are SO sweet and SUPER CUTE!!!

I could use a good night's sleep though...

It's Spring!!

The trees are budding and the irises are blooming!

But, you sure wouldn't know it's Spring by the weather outside!

Temperatures are in the low 40's with a brisk north wind... Brrrrrrr....

So, I'm sending you some Spring!!!!

Click on the snowman.
You will get a black page. Click your mouse anywhere (and everywhere) on the page then see what happens! Better yet, click (hold down) and drag your mouse over the whole page...

Enjoy!!

Colorful Characters / Ms. Ivie Flowers

Ms. Ivie checking out Jakey's set up

I LOVE chocolate brownies! Sweet, gooey, chocolaty and yummy!

Ms. Ivie Flowers gave me a bag of brownies she had made. She makes a lot of brownies, cakes, breads, cookies and even cans jams and jellies. How fun would it be to hang out in her kitchen and get to lick all the bowls!

Ms. Ivie sells her baked goods every Saturday in front of the Dollar General in Elgin to raise money for her church. I set up next to Ms. Ivie to make balloon art to raise money for
The Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund
. She thought I was quite the colorful character - I made a new friend in Ms. Ivie!

I made Ms. Ivie a flower on a stem in a heart balloon, and she wore it on her arm all day long! She knew a lot of the people that came by and took the time to chat with them all.

“How are you today?” she would ask…

So, I chimed in and would ask: “How are you today? Ms. Ivie and I are doing great! We’re sweet and we’re funny – guess which is which??
Ha-ha!! She’s the funny one!!”

pointing to Ms. Ivie. Then we would both giggle!

Remembering how sweet and tasty those brownies were on my tongue… Well, my sweet tooth knows where to go on Saturday mornings!!

Happy Birthday Skritch & Skratchy!

March 10th, 2010

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKRITCH & SKRATCHY!!!!

You two are now in your "terrible twos"

My sweet little juvenile delinquents!

I WUV U 2!!
Your Humom,
Jakey the Clown

Colorful Characters / Mr. Weather

I thought I was the only one in Elgin, Texas who had their bicycle decorated! I did that to enter The Elgin Western Days Parade in 2008. It was a lot of fun arranging all of my stuffed animal friends to wave along with me as we followed the Parade route! Of course my furbabies helped me to put it together! In this picture Skratchy and Squeek are showing their approval!

I really didn’t expect to win the
1st Place Blue Ribbon – there were so many incredible entries – but I did!! Everybody else had elaborate floats, were on horseback, or had their trucks or tractors decorated.

I was the only one on a bicycle!!

So, on Valentine’s Day 2010, I was much surprised to meet Mr. Weather!

I made him 2 poodles kissing on a heart balloon, and attached it to his bicycle. He said he gave it to ONE of his girlfriends – Happy Valentine’s Day!

It seems there are a LOT of colorful characters in Elgin!
